UPVC Door Paint

Showing all 12 results

uPVC doors have rapidly become popular in the UK, often replacing traditional wooden doors in millions of homes. Unlike wood, they don't warp or crack, and they look amazing for decades, without the need for painting!

Even so, if you fancy a change of decor and want to paint uPVC doors a different colour (especially if you have white uPVC), you have to do it properly, and that means choosing the right paint.

Pentura Premflex Plus is perfect for the job!

Pentura 2K high-performance uPVC Paint is a premium 2-part polyurethane paint that offers outstanding durability, hardness, and ease of application. Ideal for interior uPVC doors, this paint provides a tough finish that resists scratches, scuffs, and everyday wear and tear.

2K Polyurethane Finish

  • Unmatched Durability - The 2K polyurethane creates a tough, resilient finish that can withstand bumps, knocks, and scratches. This makes it ideal for high-traffic areas in your home, like hallways, doorways, and utility rooms, where doors endure frequent use. In fact, you could use this on your uPVC front door (or uPVC windows) without any problems!
  • Self Priming. There's no need for a separate primer, as this paint does the job, especially if you apply two coats.
  • Superior Hardness - The paint cures to a remarkably hard finish that resists cracking and offers excellent resistance to chipping, peeling, and indentation. This is particularly beneficial for doors that may come into contact with furniture, pets, or even children's toys!
  • Long-Lasting Beauty - The robust 2K polyurethane finish retains its colour and resists fading for extended periods, even in rooms exposed to sunlight. This ensures your doors continue to look their best for years to come.

Easy to Use

Don't let the "high performance" label fool you – the Pentura 2K uPVC Paint is surprisingly easy to use! Here's why it's perfect for DIY projects:

  • Smooth Application - The paint's specially formulated consistency ensures it glides effortlessly across surfaces, minimising the risk of streaks, brush marks, or uneven coverage.
  • Self-Levelling Properties - The paint has a slight self-levelling ability, helping to smooth out minor imperfections on the surface and achieve a professional-looking finish.
  • Excellent Coverage - A single coat provides exceptional coverage, often eliminating the need for multiple applications, saving you time and effort. The highly pigmented formula ensures complete and even coverage.
  • Suitable for DIYers - With its user-friendly application and forgiving nature, this paint is ideal for both experienced painters and DIY enthusiasts painting uPVC doors for the first time.

Excellent Adhesion

The Pentura 2K high-performance uPVC Paint boasts superior adhesion! Unlike some paints that struggle to stick to certain surfaces, this 2K formula possesses exceptional bonding power, adhering tenaciously to a remarkably wide range of materials.

  • Sticks To Almost Anything. This durable paint bonds strongly to a variety of substrates, eliminating the extra prep work and saving you time. Whether you're refreshing a wooden door, updating metal cupboard fronts, or giving a plastic garden shed a new lease of life, the Pentura 2K paint has you covered. Of course, it is ideal for uPVC doors (and windows)!
  • Superior Strength - The 2K polyurethane formula creates a powerful bond that forms a virtually inseparable link with the surface. This ensures long-lasting adhesion, preventing peeling, flaking, or chipping even in high-moisture areas like bathrooms or kitchens.
  • Unbeatable Versatility - Need to paint something a bit out of the ordinary? No problem! This paint adheres exceptionally well to an extensive list of materials, including (but not limited to) wood, metal, plastic, brass, copper, stainless steel, and even uPVC – perfect for those looking to revamp their interior doors and window frames.

Customisable Colour

Gone are the days of being limited to a few generic paint colours. The Pentura 2K Premflex uPVC Paint empowers you to unleash your creativity with a truly staggering selection of colours to choose from:

  • RAL, British Standards, Farrow & Ball, and Valspar. With access to these leading colour collections, you'll find a perfect shade to match your existing décor, create a statement piece, or follow the latest interior design trends. From classic RAL colours to the stylish palettes of Farrow & Ball and Valspar, the choice is truly yours.
  • Find Your Perfect Colour. Whether you prefer a crisp white, dramatic black, calming grey, or a vibrant splash of colour, you're sure to find the ideal hue.

With the Pentura 2K uPVC Paint, your colour options are limitless, allowing you to transform your interior space into a true reflection of your style.

Finish Options

  • Satin Finish. Often considered the most versatile choice, a satin finish provides a soft, subtle sheen without being overly reflective. It effectively hides minor imperfections on the surface while offering a touch of elegance. This finish is ideal for high-traffic areas like hallways and weathered uPVC doors, as it's relatively easy to maintain and clean.
  • Matt Finish. If you prefer a completely non-reflective look, the smooth matt finish is the perfect selection. It creates a crisp, contemporary feel that exudes a sense of understated luxury. This finish is well-suited for modern interiors or rooms where you want the paint colour to take centre stage without any distracting shine. However, it's important to note that matt finishes may show imperfections more readily than other options.

Gloss Finish. For a touch of glamour and a high-impact look, the gloss finish delivers a reflective, polished surface. This finish amplifies light, making rooms feel brighter and more spacious. It's a popular choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and areas where a touch of vibrancy is desired. However, gloss finishes tend to highlight imperfections more than other finishes, so ensure the surface is well-prepared before application.

Coverage: 8-10 square metres per litre @ 25 microns dry film thickness

In simpler terms, a single litre of paint can cover a substantial area (8-10 square metres) when applied at a recommended thickness of 25 microns (which is a very thin layer). This means you'll likely need fewer coats to achieve a complete and even finish, saving you on paint and labour costs.

Flashpoint: 26 °C

Flashpoint refers to the minimum temperature at which the paint's vapours can ignite. A higher flashpoint, like 26°C in this case, indicates a lower flammability risk. This enhances safety during application, especially when working indoors.

Storage: Store between 5°C - 25°C. Keep cans sealed when not in use

Proper storage is crucial to maintaining the paint's quality. The recommended storage temperature range of 5°C to 25°C ensures the paint remains in optimal condition, neither freezing nor overheating. Keeping the cans sealed when not in use further protects the paint from contamination and prevents the solvents from evaporating, which could affect its consistency.

Shelf Life: 12 months from delivery date in original sealed containers

When stored correctly in its original sealed container, Pentura 2K uPVC Paint boasts a shelf life of 12 months from the delivery date. This provides peace of mind, knowing you have ample time to use the paint without worrying about it spoiling.

Application Methods

  • Conventional Spray. For a smooth, professional-looking finish, conventional spray is a popular choice.
  • HVLP Paint Sprayer (High Volume, Low Pressure). If you're looking for a more controlled spray application with reduced overspray, HVLP spraying is a great option. This method uses a high volume of air at a lower pressure to create a fine mist, minimising paint waste and achieving a professional finish. We recommend this for painting uPVC doors and windows.
  • Airless Spray. For heavy-duty applications or large surface areas, airless spray might be the most efficient method. This technique uses a high-pressure pump to force the paint through a nozzle, creating a fine jet that coats the surface quickly and uniformly.
  • Air-Assisted Airless Spray. Combining the benefits of both airless and conventional spray techniques, air-assisted airless spraying offers a good balance between control and efficiency. This method uses a combination of compressed air and a high-pressure pump to atomise the paint, resulting in a finer finish compared to traditional airless spray while reducing overspray compared to conventional spray.

Recommended Needle Nozzle Size for HVLP: 1.3 / 1.4 / 1.5mm
